Brochure Project

  1. Description: Duplex printed brochure for a bike touring company.
  2. Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): For this design I created a brand new original logo using Adobe Illustrator. I first used the pen tool to draw the arrow head. I then overlay some text on top of it. Next I used the pen tool to draw a wheel and replaced the “o” in arrow with the wheel. I then created the arrow that underlines the text of the logo. Then I moved to Adobe InDesign and began to create my basic layout of the brochure. I decided to do a three panel z-fold in with my brochure. I created the margins and the gutters for my columns. I then added text and images in the different columns. I used text wrap on one of the images and made sure to use paragraph styles to make sure that my paragraphs were uniform. The last thing I did was touch of the alignment of the different elements composing the design.
  3. Message: Promote a company specializing in cross country bike tours.
  4. Audience: Men and women ages 20-55 who are active and interested in the outdoors and adventure.
  5. Top Thing Learned: The top thing that I learned was how to properly create a layout for a brochure. It was a bit tricky to get it to print how I wanted it to. I also learned some great tricks to help me save time in the future such as paragraph styles.
  6. Color scheme and color names: Complementary color scheme, red and green.
  7. Title Font Name & Category: Cantarell Regular-Sans-serif.
  8. Copy Font Name & Category: Palatino Linotype Regular-Oldstyle.
